Role overview
This 14-month contract is for a Supply Chain Manager who can keep assigned products moving smoothly, safeguard supply continuity, and coordinate closely with suppliers, distributors, and internal teams. The position plays a key part in product availability, promotional launches, inventory planning, and logistics coordination across the Greater Toronto Area.
The role requires hands-on supply chain leadership and cross-functional collaboration with procurement, marketing, operations, quality assurance, supplier partners, and distribution teams to reduce disruptions and protect service levels.
Supply management
- Keep product supply steady by anticipating and addressing risks such as transport delays, raw material shortages, weather-related interruptions, and labor constraints.
- Work with procurement on backup plans and risk-reduction measures.
- Oversee relationships with suppliers and distribution centers.
- Track supplier capacity and performance to confirm they meet quality and service expectations.
- Maintain accurate product pricing and system records.
Promotions planning and inventory management
- Help coordinate new product introductions and promotional activity through careful planning and execution.
- Create project timelines and align work across marketing, quality, and supplier teams.
- Follow product approval progress and make sure launch timing stays on track.
- Manage inventory and distribution planning to support launches and stock depletion strategies.
Distribution and logistics
- Manage day-to-day relationships with distribution centers and third-party logistics providers.
- Evaluate distribution approaches and transportation spend to improve efficiency.
- Ensure distribution agreements and service commitments are followed.
Purchasing and supplier management
- Support supplier negotiations with the goal of improving landed costs.
- Assess supplier performance and suggest ways to strengthen the supply base.
- Review pricing reports and investigate discrepancies until resolved.
- Develop durable partnerships with suppliers.
Additional responsibilities
- Organize work priorities to meet business deadlines and operational needs.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes and boost efficiency.
- Design practical solutions that reduce supply risk and avoid service interruptions.

Qualifications
Important note: experience with chicken supply is required.
A bachelor’s degree, or a comparable mix of education and relevant experience, is needed. The ideal candidate should bring 5 to 8+ years of experience across supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory planning, or supplier management. Prior work involving supplier oversight, inventory, logistics, and cross-functional project delivery is expected. Strong analytical thinking, organization, and problem-solving ability are essential.
