Role overview
This opportunity is for a CMO Supply Chain Operations Associate to join a biopharmaceutical organisation in Cork, County Cork. The role focuses on supporting external manufacturing and clinical supply activities so that materials, drug product, finished goods and related inventory needs are planned, coordinated and delivered with accuracy.
The position involves close day-to-day collaboration with Supply Chain, Quality, MSAT, external manufacturing partners and other internal teams to help ensure clinical product supply in a tightly regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
- Handle ERP-related tasks that support external manufacturing, including production transactions and inventory control.
- Track and manage inventory for drug substance, drug product, finished goods, components, bulk packs and samples at external manufacturing locations.
- Support purchase order and invoice coordination, making sure they are created correctly, tracked properly and followed up where needed.
- Arrange inbound and outbound shipments, including shipping paperwork and communication with the relevant parties.
- Own monthly inventory reconciliation work and act as the primary contact for inventory audit support.
- Work with external manufacturing partners to ensure reference standards are supplied as required.
- Partner with internal and external teams to manage annual stability sample needs.
- Keep Tier 2 master data accurate, including planning and GMP production recipes, quality parameters, dispensing and sourcing rules, planning attributes, formulas and routings.
- Collaborate across functions to solve immediate supply disruptions and contribute to longer-term supply planning and performance targets.
- Take part in improvement initiatives across supply chain operations, inventory processes and external manufacturing workflows.
- Make sure all work complies with GMP, GDP and applicable quality standards.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned to the role.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Supply Chain Management or a closely related area.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in operations, supply chain or quality within a regulated manufacturing setting.
- Practical experience in supply planning, inventory management and inventory reconciliation.
- Prior exposure to external manufacturing or contract manufacturing environments is beneficial.
- Working understanding of GxP regulations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and master data administration.
- Experience with CAPA, FMEA and RCA tools in a regulated manufacturing context is preferred.
- Background in clinical packaging or clinical supply chain operations is an advantage.
- Knowledge of cold-chain logistics.
- Experience coordinating shipments of pharmaceutical materials, drug product or clinical supplies.
