About the Role

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a remote, U.S.-based, market-facing executive position that reports to the Vice President of Sales - North America, Healthcare. This leader is expected to boost growth, strengthen Connexall’s profile among CIO- and CTO-level decision-makers, and expand executive engagement across the healthcare sector.

This is not an internal IT management role. Instead, it functions as Connexall’s senior technology representative in the market, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Clinical teams to ensure the platform story, customer priorities, and operational needs are aligned. The emphasis is on executive-level sales support and strategic market engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Work with senior leadership to define and carry out growth initiatives, including entry into new markets, new customer segments, and strategic alliances.
  • Help drive business development by building executive relationships with health systems, vendors, and other industry partners.
  • Meet with prospective clients to understand their technology challenges and map Connexall’s solutions to their business goals.
  • Assist in expanding current accounts by working with Account Executives and Account Managers to strengthen C-level relationships and Connexall’s strategic footprint.
  • Partner with the CNIO, VP of Sales, SVP Sales and Marketing, and CEO to support lead generation and pipeline creation by influencing executive stakeholders throughout the sales process.
  • Interact confidently with senior leaders in hospitals, health systems, IDNs, and long-term care facilities.
  • Take part in executive presentations, product demos, discovery discussions, and proposal creation.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Account Managers, and Sales Directors on pipeline growth, deal strategy, and opportunity advancement.
  • Contribute technical and strategic input to proposals, RFP responses, and solution design so they match customer priorities and compliance expectations.
  • Share market, technical, and competitive feedback with Product, Leadership, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • Represent Connexall at CHIME and other healthcare technology conferences, forums, and industry gatherings.
  • Build trust and visibility by connecting with external CIOs, CMIOs, CNOs, CNIOs, IT leaders, and other healthcare executives.
  • Serve as a trusted peer and advisor on interoperability, clinical workflows, and digital transformation in healthcare.
  • Help position Connexall as a recognized thought leader in clinical care and healthcare IT.
  • Communicate the business, clinical, and operational value of the platform in complex healthcare settings.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to convert technical capabilities into executive-focused, outcome-driven messaging.
  • Remain up to date on healthcare technology trends, regulatory shifts, and market forces affecting the industry.
  • Provide executive-level guidance to product, clinical, sales, and marketing functions based on market intelligence and customer input.
  • Support go-to-market messaging by keeping customer needs, product capabilities, and business direction aligned.
  • Coordinate with the CNIO, VP of Sales, SVP Sales and Marketing, and CEO to align digital strategy with clinical priorities.
  • Ensure technology platforms, cybersecurity compliance, and innovation plans work together to support clinical workflows and improve patient outcomes.
  • Synchronize priorities and operational activity across Connexall teams and departments.
  • Help evolve the role over time to increase pipeline generation and improve deal closure rates.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a similar discipline is required.
  • A master’s degree such as an MBA, MHA, MS in Health Informatics, or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare technology, health IT, or digital health.
  • Previous experience in a CIO, Deputy CIO, CTO, Chief Digital Officer, or comparable senior executive role within a healthcare provider, health system, or healthcare technology company.
  • Proven background working with C-suite stakeholders in complex healthcare environments.
  • Strong history of supporting business development, revenue growth, or strategic partnerships in customer-facing roles.
  • Solid knowledge of acute care operations, clinical workflows, interoperability, and healthcare IT ecosystems.
  • Excellent executive communication skills and a strong presence in senior-level discussions.
