ജോലി വിവരണം
About the organisation
Berry Street and Yooralla have come together as one organisation, combining more than 240 years of experience supporting people with disability and those affected by poverty, violence, and abuse. The organisation is driven by a shared goal: helping children, young people, individuals, and families live safely, with dignity, and with the chance to shape the life they want for themselves.
Their vision is a community where everyone feels secure, included, and supported to thrive. The work is grounded in human rights and in creating a future free from the harm of trauma, violence, and abuse.
About the role
This is a Kinship Care Case Manager position based in Shepparton on Yorta Yorta Country, with outreach work across the Hume region. Kinship care refers to support for a child, young person, or sibling group when they cannot live safely with their biological parents and are instead cared for by extended family or a close network.
There are two vacancies: one permanent full-time role and one full-time fixed-term role covering parental leave until February 2027. The annual base salary is $100,000 pro rata, plus superannuation and salary packaging.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver case management for statutory kinship care placements, with a focus on long-term safety, stability, development, and security for the children and young people involved.
- Strengthen existing family and community supports, both formal and informal, around children living in kinship arrangements.
- Support families to create the safest and most suitable care environment possible for children and young people who cannot remain with their birth parents.
- Work in line with Home Based Care program expectations, the CYFA 2005, and statutory case management requirements in coordination with child protection.
What you will bring
You should be confident engaging with children, young people, and kinship families, and able to understand the complex intergenerational dynamics and family relationships that can affect kinship placements. Experience supporting children, young people, and families through an attachment-informed and trauma-informed approach is essential.
The minimum qualification requirement is a Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work, or a related discipline, together with intermediate experience in the sector. A bachelor-level qualification is preferred.
Benefits
- Access to training, professional development, and workplace support to grow your case management capability, including regular supervision.
- Salary packaging of up to $15,900 per year, with additional packaging options available for meals and accommodation.
- Employee Assistance Program support for staff and their immediate family members.
- 17.5% leave loading.
