About the role

talabat is expanding its grocery and quick-commerce operations across the MENA region, and this position supports the growth of tMart, the company’s cloud-store grocery service. The service is designed to provide grocery delivery in about 30 minutes at hypermarket pricing and is now active across Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, and Iraq.

The broader business has grown since its first delivery in Kuwait in 2004 and now serves customers across nine countries with a large network of brands, branches, and employees. The company also emphasizes community impact through its tech-for-good initiatives, including charity donations and support for food insecurity programs.

Role overview

The Barista will be responsible for preparing beverages, food, and related items to the required standards while helping maintain smooth store operations, product freshness, and hygiene across the work area.

Key duties

• Prepare coffee, drinks, and food according to standard recipes, workbook guidance, and food skill requirements.
• Understand ingredients thoroughly and be able to make each recipe correctly.
• Work from recipe cards and ensure the final output matches the set standards.
• Maintain the expected level of speed and quality in service delivery.
• Process orders efficiently and make sure each order is completed to standard.
• Label and store products properly and keep them in suitable conditions.
• Follow FIFO principles so older stock is used first and items stay fresh.
• Handle expired products correctly.
• Keep fridges, freezers, and storage areas clean and well maintained.
• Receive deliveries and check them appropriately.
• Keep the workstation clean and uphold strong food safety and hygiene standards, including cleanliness and temperature checks.
• Maintain neat presentation using planograms and standard manuals.
• Ensure full product availability within the required range.
• Prepare drinks and food to Everyday Coffee standards and record temperatures as needed.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, well organized, and able to prioritize work effectively. The role suits someone who takes a solution-focused approach, communicates well, and can work hands-on with multiple tools and teams. Strong interpersonal skills, comfort with stakeholders at different levels, and a willingness to keep learning in a fast-changing environment are important. Fluency in English is required, and Arabic language ability would be a strong advantage.

Experience and qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of barista experience is required.
