Role overview
Prime Life is hiring a Cook for Cherry Tree Lodge in central Lincoln. The home supports 18 residents who live with learning disabilities and mental health conditions, so the role calls for someone who is calm, considerate, patient, and able to respect each person’s individual needs and abilities.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing meals, drinks, and snacks that suit residents’ dietary needs.
- Checking the quality of food during preparation and while it is being stored.

- Keeping stock records accurate and aligned with company procedures and food safety rules.
- Placing stock orders and maintaining the related paperwork.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and hygienic, including carrying out deep-cleaning duties when required.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate will bring genuine compassion and a wish to make a positive difference in residents’ lives. You should already have experience working as a Cook. A Food Hygiene qualification and/or Catering qualification would be helpful, but it is not mandatory because training can be provided.
Pay and benefits
- Hourly pay between £12.96 and £13.32, depending on qualification level.
- Regular fixed shifts across a 7-day working week, offering a strong work-life balance.
- Support from the Quality Matters team with opportunities to develop and progress.
- Fully funded DBS check.
- Holiday pay scheme designed to recognise your commitment.
- Refer a Friend bonus of up to £250 for each successful referral.
