Role Overview
We are hiring an analytically strong, delivery-focused Associate Product Manager to support the offline retail technology ecosystem, including POS platforms, supply chain processes, and SAP S/4 HANA integrations. The role sits at the intersection of operations and technology, turning complex real-world business challenges into clear product solutions.
This position is ownership-heavy rather than coordination-heavy. You will be expected to drive outcomes, question assumptions, and apply an AI-first mindset to how products and internal workflows are designed and improved.
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand gaps, shape problem statements, and convert business requirement documents into actionable PRDs, user journeys, and functional specifications. Business teams will provide BRDs; your job is to challenge them, clarify them, and translate them into build-ready product documents.
- Design complete solution flows for new capabilities and system upgrades across POS, inventory, and supply chain processes, with acceptance criteria that clearly separate business intent from engineering execution.
- Prepare test cases, work closely with QA, and manage UAT cycles to confirm that delivered features function as intended, not merely as implemented.
- Take ownership of root cause analysis for production incidents, uncover underlying issues rather than surface-level symptoms, and turn repeat problem patterns into durable product enhancements.
- Continuously look for opportunities to use AI, machine learning, LLMs, or automation to reduce manual work, improve decisions, and speed up retail operations workflows.
- Serve as the link between business, engineering, QA, and operations teams by driving clarity, alignment, and execution.
Success Metrics
- Resolution of P1/P2 incidents within the agreed SLA and a quarter-on-quarter reduction in repeated production issues.
- Lower post-release defect rates and stronger UAT sign-off quality.
- Faster PRD turnaround time from stakeholder input to engineering-ready documentation.
- Improved store onboarding speed for POS/SAP rollouts wherever applicable.
- Better backlog quality, measured through the share of tickets with clear acceptance criteria and reduced sprint spillover.
Domain Exposure You Will Build
- SAP S/4 HANA concepts such as stock transfer orders, goods receipt and issue processes, inventory reconciliation, and POS-to-ERP integration points. Deep SAP expertise is not required on day one.
- POS workflows including transactions, billing, returns, offline-to-online syncing, and store operations.
- Supply chain processes covering inward and outward movement, inventory control, replenishment triggers, and inter-warehouse transfers.
- Omnichannel retail context and how offline operations connect with digital channels.
What the Team Is Looking For
- 1 to 3 years of experience in product management or business analysis, ideally in retail, e-commerce, or operations technology.
- Strong documentation skills, especially for PRDs and functional specifications, with the ability to write documents that need minimal interpretation.
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments where processes may be loosely defined and systems may not always behave predictably.
- Genuine interest in AI tools, with a habit of experimenting and identifying use cases proactively.
- Solid analytical ability and familiarity with root cause analysis or structured problem-solving methods.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to explain the same issue effectively to both business leaders and technical teams.
Preferred Experience
- Practical exposure to POS systems or offline retail operations.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP platforms.
- Background in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle retail.
- Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Whimsical.
Tools and Systems
You will work with Jira, Confluence, Whimsical, SAP S/4 HANA, Slack, and AI tools.
Growth Path
0 to 6 months: Learn the domain across POS, SAP, and supply chain; own issue resolution and testing; deliver your first PRD independently.
6 to 18 months: Take end-to-end ownership of a product sub-area, contribute roadmap inputs, and drive AI-assisted improvements in internal workflows.
18 to 30 months: Move toward a Product Manager role with full accountability for a defined product area from discovery through delivery.
Additional Information
This role requires someone who is comfortable owning outcomes, improving operational workflows, and bringing structure to complex retail systems. The day-to-day work combines product thinking, operational understanding, and hands-on execution across business and technology teams.
