Associate Director, Training & Advising

This leadership position centers on improving student success operations through effective advising, high-quality training, and strong staff development in a global education setting. You will be responsible for building and refining onboarding, professional learning, and training systems that help student support teams deliver consistent, high-standard service. The role also contributes to strengthening operating practices, improving advising quality, and promoting a culture of continuous learning across regional teams.

In this position, you will work closely with academic units, financial aid teams, military education partners, and other student support stakeholders to keep service delivery aligned across functions. You will also mentor staff, review training effectiveness using performance data, and help guide strategic and operational initiatives that support student outcomes.

Key accountabilities

• Lead the creation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of onboarding, training, and professional development programs for advising and student success staff.
• Build instructional resources, online learning content, and documentation, including materials delivered through LMS platforms such as Canvas.
• Coach and develop team members while encouraging teamwork, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Measure the impact of training through performance indicators, feedback, and data analysis, then use the results to strengthen learning outcomes.
• Work with academic departments, financial aid, military education partners, and other internal stakeholders to keep advising practices aligned.
• Act as a central point of coordination between regional teams to help standardize processes and improve collaboration across functions.
• Support operational decisions, including participation in scholarship committees and reviews of discretionary funding.
• Contribute to process enhancements, student support improvements, and broader strategic initiatives across regional operations.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Education, Leadership, Counseling, or a closely related discipline is required.
• Between 3 and 5 years of experience in student support, academic advising, training, or higher education operations is expected.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training programs, onboarding experiences, and professional development content.
• Strong leadership capability with experience managing cross-functional work and partnering with varied stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, organization, and problem-solving ability.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, along with learning management systems such as Canvas.
• Ability to thrive in a structured, student-centered environment with a focus on service quality and compliance.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for institutional events, graduations, or staff development activities.
• Background in higher education or student success operations is considered a strong advantage.
