Role Overview

This position is for a proactive Assistant Engineer who will help plan, coordinate, and carry out infrastructure and utility projects. Key Duties

  • Monitor permit expiry dates and handle renewals for approvals and licenses needed for project work.
  • Coordinate with SP Group officers on work planning, reinstatement activities, and related project matters.
  • Assist Project Managers with planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Take part in design and coordination discussions and suggest improvements to processes or designs when appropriate.
  • Track project progress, costs, and resource usage to help keep work on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and outside stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution and timely completion.
  • Prepare and maintain project records such as reports, proposals, meeting notes, and correspondence.
  • Act as a main contact for project communications and working groups.
  • Keep project files accurate, updated, and well organized.
  • Carry out additional tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor or Head of Department.

Requirements

  • A Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Prior exposure to project coordination, engineering work, or construction projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with local authority submission processes and permit applications will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of SP Group procedures, utility coordination, and regulatory compliance in Singapore.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities effectively, and work to deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with solid problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • A valid Class 2 or Class 3 driving licence is an added benefit for site travel.
