Role overview

Dimensional Fund Advisors is looking for an Analyst to join its Portfolio Management team in Santa Monica, California. This group oversees daily portfolio management activities and applies the firm’s investment philosophy across its investment products. The team works closely with Trading, Research, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and the Global Client Group to help deliver a strong investment experience for clients.

The Equities team focuses on monitoring portfolios, securities, and market conditions so that equity exposure is delivered consistently and efficiently in line with the goal of capturing higher expected returns. In this role, you will help keep day-to-day portfolio management and trading workflows running smoothly while building a foundation for growth into broader portfolio management responsibilities.

Compensation

Dimensional reasonably expects the pay range for this position to be between $82,500 and $105,000, depending on credentials, industry experience, education, training/certifications, and/or geographic differentials. This role may also qualify for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Assist with portfolio cash management, including credit lines, currency hedging, and cash forecasting.
• Review voluntary corporate actions and help recommend election choices to Portfolio Managers.
• Organize and prepare information used in presentations for clients and internal leadership.
• Handle day-to-day and ad hoc requests from Portfolio Managers.
• Suggest and carry out process improvements that help efficiency and support better portfolio outcomes.
• Work across internal and external teams to support collaboration and execution.

Development opportunities

As the role progresses, analysts join the Analyst Development Program and may take on junior lead responsibilities in several investment processes. The position is designed to broaden exposure to fund management and provide strong learning opportunities that can lead toward a future Portfolio Manager path.
