Role Overview

This part-time remote position is for an Academic Advisor/Mentor based in Australia. The role centers on student guidance, academic planning, career support, and ongoing education assistance to help students stay on track and reach their goals.

What You Will Do

• Offer mentoring, academic direction, and counselling so students can stay motivated and progress successfully.
• Make sure enrollment, academic standing, and visa-related rules are followed.
• Check and approve academic paperwork, subject registrations, and study plans in the system.
• Keep student files, progress comments, and monthly reports accurate, current, and aligned with internal standards.
• Run regular one-on-one mentoring meetings to track progress and respond early to academic or personal concerns.
• Spot learners who may be falling behind and create Academic Improvement Plans with clear next steps and follow-up.
• Support students with subject choices, academic pathways, registration, and movement between programs or institutions.
• Track milestones, credit completion, and expected finishing timelines to keep students progressing as planned.
• Assist with transfers, major changes, and other academic changes while protecting program continuity.
• Direct students to useful academic support services such as counselling centers, tutoring, and workshops.
• Reinforce academic integrity expectations and help students follow institutional policies.
• Stay in contact with other advisors about student performance, compliance issues, and developing concerns.
• Prepare warning requests and compliance notices when they are required.
• Organize important academic deadlines so students can meet institutional requirements on time.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in student counselling and career counselling.
• Confident communication skills.
• Background in academic advising and education.
• Prior experience supporting students.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both students and faculty members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a similar field.
• Working knowledge of educational resources and available learning opportunities.
