Role overview

Vale Base Metals is hiring a Winder for its Divisional Shops team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent, on-site role based on a Monday to Friday day shift schedule. The position requires relocation to Sudbury and fills an existing vacancy.

In this role, you will carry out troubleshooting and onsite repair work, support planned and urgent maintenance, and contribute to shop-based preventative maintenance activities.

Key duties

  • Diagnose issues and carry out repairs at the worksite when needed.
  • Test, disassemble, repair, rewind, modify, assemble, or overhaul armatures, stators, rotors, commutators, and field coils.
  • Work on AC and DC motors, generators, alternators, transformers, and magnetic equipment of any size, type, or design.
  • Prepare breakdown, corrective, and minor work reports.
  • Inspect and evaluate components to determine the type and scope of work required.
