Warehouse Manager

Role overview

The Warehouse Manager will lead the day-to-day running of a direct-to-consumer warehouse operation. The position is focused on keeping fulfillment smooth, stock records accurate, and warehouse processes efficient while meeting customer service targets and maintaining strict safety and compliance standards. The role also covers the timely sorting, grading, processing, and dispatch of goods to dark stores, with close attention to product quality, cold chain integrity, and operational productivity.

Operations management

• Take ownership of all warehouse activities, including goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Improve and streamline workflows so daily fulfillment targets are consistently met.
• Ensure products are sorted, graded, processed, and delivered on time so all dark stores remain properly stocked.
• Manage end-to-end daily warehouse activity, including cold chain handling, within fixed cut-off times while following quality standards and SOPs.

Inventory control

• Keep inventory data accurate through routine cycle counts and stock audits.
• Monitor stock correctness and circulate daily inventory audit updates.
• Work with procurement and sales teams to anticipate demand and plan stock levels.
• Ensure damaged and expired inventory is cleared in line with SOPs and customer service-level commitments.

Team leadership

• Lead, coach, and motivate warehouse teams such as pickers, packers, and inventory staff.
• Plan shift rosters to maintain the right staffing levels during busy periods.
• Coordinate with external partners to secure timely support from contract associates, security personnel, and transportation providers.

Systems and technology

• Use warehouse management systems to monitor stock and order movement effectively.
• Make sure team members are trained to use WMS and other operational tools correctly.
• Ensure vendor invoices are processed on time through the PR/PO workflow in SAP.

Customer service and vendor coordination

• Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered on schedule to support strong customer satisfaction.
• Quickly investigate and resolve order mismatches or operational disruptions.
• Manage third-party vendor relationships and make sure SLA commitments are consistently achieved.
• Review vendor bills carefully to confirm calculations, rates, and supporting documents match the relevant contract, SLA, or purchase order.

Safety and compliance

• Promote and enforce warehouse safety practices and operational regulations.
• Maintain compliance with labor laws, health requirements, and cold chain handling standards.

Reporting and performance

• Track and report KPIs such as order accuracy, delivery lead times, inventory turnover, and productivity.
• Deliver the customer-agreed daily KPI targets and review them in daily operations meetings.
• Measure productivity across warehouse processes and reduce waste to help control variable costs.
• Use operational data to spot opportunities for improvement.

Experience and skills

A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred. The ideal candidate should bring more than 10 years of experience managing grocery or FMCG warehouse operations, with a preference for exposure to fresh produce or cold chain logistics. Strong hands-on experience with WMS, SAP, and inventory controls is essential, along with the ability to manage vendor relationships and SLA-based operations. The role also calls for solid leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
