Role Summary

This is a full-time remote position for a Video Editor who will create engaging visual content that advances Urban Alchemy’s mission and storytelling efforts. The role centers on turning raw footage into clear, compelling narratives, improving the sound and look of videos, and partnering with communications and program teams to ensure content supports organizational priorities. The editor will also add motion graphics and other visual elements, carry out basic color correction, and adapt videos for different platforms and audiences while keeping assets organized and brand standards consistent.

Key Duties

• Shape raw video material into polished stories that communicate the organization’s message effectively.
• Improve audio and visual quality through editing, cleanup, and refinement.
• Work with communications and program teams to align video output with campaign and program goals.
• Incorporate motion graphics, animated elements, titles, and overlays as needed.
• Apply basic color grading to maintain a consistent visual style.
• Prepare content for distribution across multiple formats, audiences, and channels.
• Keep media files and project assets organized and accessible.
• Maintain brand consistency and deliver work within project timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in video production and editing, with the ability to take footage from initial concept through final delivery.
• Working knowledge of color grading to create a consistent and polished visual result.
• Ability to design and apply motion graphics, graphics, titles, and animated overlays.
• Comfort using professional editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, plus motion graphics software such as After Effects.
• Strong narrative instincts, excellent attention to detail, and a portfolio that shows relevant work, ideally in social impact or nonprofit settings.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup, juggle several projects at once, and collaborate well with varied teams.
• Understanding of social media and digital video formats, including content adapted for YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Helpful background in film, media, communications, or a similar field, along with lived experience aligned with Urban Alchemy’s mission and values.
