Vendor Coordinator

About the Role

Saipem is seeking a Vendor Coordinator to join the Commissioning Department on the COMP2 project in Qatar. In this position, you will work closely with the Lead/Manager and help ensure vendor activities are planned, executed, and tracked smoothly across commissioning and start-up phases.

Vendor Coordination and Site Execution

• Organize vendor mobilization, call-outs, and site participation according to the commissioning timetable.
• Serve as the main contact for vendors and the Commissioning, Construction, and QA/QC teams.
• Make sure vendors are present for FAT/SAT, loop checks, functional testing, and system start-up activities.

Planning and Interface Management

• Coordinate vendor schedules with system and subsystem priorities as well as the commissioning sequence.
• Work with engineering and procurement teams on technical clarifications and monitoring vendor deliverables.
• Follow up on vendor readiness, including documentation, manpower, tools, and consumables.

Documentation and Compliance

• Review vendor records such as test procedures, calibration certificates, manuals, and data sheets.
• Ensure all vendor activities comply with project requirements, HSE expectations, and quality standards.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting

• Measure vendor progress against the plan and raise delays early when needed.
• Keep records of vendor attendance, testing progress, and open punch items.
• Assist in preparing daily and weekly commissioning updates.

Commercial and Administrative Support

• Assist with vendor-related administration such as service report and timesheet validation.
• Support invoice coordination and budget tracking for vendor activities.

Issue Resolution

• Identify technical mismatches between vendor packages and site conditions.
• Resolve interface issues across disciplines and coordinate corrective actions through to closure.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering is needed, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation.
• Between 2 and 7+ years of experience in EPC oil and gas projects is required.
• Practical exposure to commissioning, pre-commissioning, vendor coordination during SAT/start-up, and troubleshooting is expected.
• Familiarity with EPC execution stages from mechanical completion to commissioning and start-up is important.
• Experience working across multiple disciplines such as electrical and instrumentation, mechanical, and process teams is preferred.
• Strong English communication skills are required.

Additional Information

This is a permanent, project-based position located in Qatar at the office. The standard work schedule is 45 hours per week, based on 9 hours a day for 5 days.
