About the role
This is a permanent Trades Assistant position based in Mandurah. The role supports scheduled maintenance work on sewerage assets for the Corporation’s Mechanical and Electrical department.

Key duties
- Carry out assigned tasks on specified components and work in line with instructions and procedures.
- Perform site-based work under direct or indirect supervision.
- Interpret basic drawings where required.
- Complete inspections and accurately record findings.
- Handle assembly and dismantling activities such as bolting and screwing.
- Move tools, materials, and work pieces between sites and workbenches.
- Clean and prepare working surfaces.
- Use specialist tools, plant, and equipment to complete operation and maintenance work.
- Support operations and maintenance activities across different teams.
- Help maintain Water Corporation assets across the district.
Skills and experience
Applicants should bring workshop-based and site-based experience, ideally gained while supporting Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters, Electricians, or similar trades in areas such as welding, fabrication, fitting, or machining. Progress toward, or completion of, a Certificate III in the National Water Package is preferred. High-risk licences such as dogging, vehicle crane, and forklift are relevant, as is an HR licence. Experience operating excavators and bobcats would be an advantage.
