Mitre 10 Trade is among New Zealand’s fastest expanding suppliers for trade building needs. The business supports trade partners with products, services, and practical solutions to help them operate more effectively, and this role is part of that ongoing growth at Mitre 10 MEGA Nelson.

Mitre 10 MEGA Nelson serves both Trade and DIY customers with a broad range of drive-thru, timber, building products, and landscaping items available in one location. Trade sales is a key area of the business, and the team is looking for someone who can help maintain the store’s position as a trusted partner to the building and construction sector across Nelson Tasman.

Role overview

This position focuses on supporting trade customers and sales representatives, while also helping account managers deliver a high level of service. The right candidate will ensure trade clients and DIY customers are matched with suitable products at the correct prices so they can complete their projects successfully.

What the role involves

You will work from the Trade Department at Mega Nelson on a 40-hour week, which may include one weekend day. The role requires a practical understanding of the building industry, the ability to interpret plans and work out job quantities, strong computer capability, and a methodical, process-focused approach.

Skills and attributes

Applicants should bring strong verbal and written communication skills, a willingness to learn every part of the trade operation, and a positive team-oriented attitude. While experience in the industry is helpful, the business places greater value on reliability, honesty, punctuality, and a good fit with the team. References will be required.
