Role Overview
The Supply Planner is central to improving business profitability by coordinating supply, procurement, and manufacturing planning within the S&OP framework. This position serves as the key interface for all markets, making sure customer demand is met on time through active supply and MRP reviews, the design and rollout of the S&OP process, and the maintenance of healthy inventory levels.
The role requires regular partnership with teams across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance. It also includes ensuring production plans are followed, building replenishment approaches, and reviewing S&OP metrics to strengthen delivery reliability and inventory control. Success in this position depends on strong analytical thinking, communication, and leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead supply and MRP review meetings with stakeholders to support planning outcomes such as DIFOT, inventory levels, and turnover.
- Build and roll out the S&OP process across the organization.
- Make sure production plans are followed and track supply fill rates, including reporting any variances.
- Issue production plans to operations and create dispatch plans aligned to demand and manufacturing schedules.
- Create replenishment models that reflect market conditions and supply limitations to improve inventory effectiveness.
- Work with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance teams to keep product flow to market smooth.
- Coordinate with outbound logistics to meet delivery timelines and maintain clear communication for execution.
- Push for target achievement and improve forecast accuracy through proactive ownership and a results-driven approach.
- Improve commitments versus actuals, monitor KPIs early, and help optimize requirements against commitments for better supply chain efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to individuals and groups of different sizes.
- Comfort using advanced Excel and other forecasting tools for analysis and decision support.
- Sound judgment and the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Good negotiation skills for collaboration and conflict resolution.
- Excellent planning and organizing ability to manage work and resources well.
- Ability to collect, structure, and assess data to solve complex problems in a systematic way.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and able to perform well under pressure in a fast-changing environment.
- Proven demand-planning experience in Solar, Electronics, Pharma, or similar make-to-order supply chain settings.
- Current knowledge of modern supply chain practices and industry best approaches.
- APICS certification is required.
- Hands-on experience with SAP APO/SCM and related process tools, along with familiarity with global benchmarks.
