Role overview
An expanding European energy company is looking for a Strategy and Proposition Lead to help shape the next phase of its renewable energy growth. The business has grown through recent acquisitions and now operates a leading Energy Management Services (EMS) platform across several European countries, supporting commercial and industrial customers in their shift to cleaner energy solutions.
This is a practical, high-impact leadership role within the European leadership team. You will be responsible for developing fresh customer propositions, spotting commercial growth opportunities, and guiding the launch of new products and services across multiple markets. The role partners closely with senior leaders and local teams to strengthen commercial strategy and support continued expansion.
Contract and location
- Initial contract length: 6 months
- There is a strong possibility of a permanent role after the contract ends
- Remote working is available from anywhere in Europe
- Regular travel across Europe is expected to work with local teams and leadership
What you will do
- Shape and continuously improve customer propositions across several European markets.
- Create commercially sound products and services that meet customer needs and support business growth.
- Prepare strategic business cases, evaluate new market opportunities, and manage pilots from early concept through implementation.
- Find opportunities to grow revenue, lift profitability, and strengthen customer value propositions.
- Work with local commercial teams to adapt solutions for each market while sharing successful practices across the wider business.
- Review market movements, competitor activity, customer behaviour, and emerging technologies to support strategic decisions.
- Track regulatory changes in European energy markets and assess their commercial implications.
- Define KPIs and performance measures to evaluate proposition success and improve results over time.
- Develop strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across commercial, technical, and executive functions in multiple countries.
- Support acquisitions by contributing commercial insight, proposition alignment, and integration planning where needed.
- Partner with external organisations, industry groups, and technology providers to strengthen market positioning and future product development.
Experience and background
- Background in Proposition Management, Commercial Strategy, Product Strategy, or Business Strategy within energy, utilities, or renewable energy.
- Strong commercial judgement and experience building customer-led products and services.
- Track record of creating business cases and leading strategic initiatives from idea stage to delivery.
- Strong analytical ability with the skill to interpret market information and turn it into commercial action.
- Experience working across more than one country or in international markets.
- Solid stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage several strategic priorities at once.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving and changing business environment.
Preferred experience
- Exposure to renewable energy, solar, battery storage, EV charging, or broader Energy Management Services.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, commercial due diligence, or post-acquisition integration.
- Understanding of European energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in B2B commercial organisations.
- English fluency is required; additional European languages such as German or French would be an advantage.
