Stores Operative

Overview

This is a permanent, on-site Stores Operative role based in Saxmundham, Suffolk, with a salary of £30,000 per year. The position sits within a well-established and expanding manufacturing business, offering a supportive and friendly workplace for someone looking for a long-term career move.

Working Pattern

The role follows a Monday to Friday rotating shift schedule. Standard shifts are 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00. The initial training period will be on a 06:45 to 16:30 shift.

Role Summary

You will support the day-to-day operation of the stores function, making sure materials and stock are received, recorded, handled, and issued accurately. The role also involves helping production and dispatch activity while keeping the stores area organised, safe, and compliant with health and safety expectations.

Key Duties

• Accept incoming deliveries and process them into the system
• Pick and pack orders with accuracy
• Manage stock levels and carry out inventory checks
• Load and unload deliveries as needed
• Keep stock records up to date and accurate
• Operate warehouse software and handheld scanning equipment
• Ensure the stores area remains tidy, secure, and well organised
• Assist production and dispatch teams when support is required
• Work in line with all health and safety requirements

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will bring prior experience from a warehouse, stores, logistics, or stock control environment. A forklift licence would be beneficial, although it is not a requirement for the role.
