Join Sankar Group as a Startup Research Intern and collaborate directly with the founder to rigorously evaluate new startup ideas before they are launched. This role involves conducting comprehensive market investigations, competitor analysis, industry research, customer exploration, and feasibility assessments to transform initial concepts into detailed business reports. These analyses guide strategic decisions on whether to proceed with, adjust, or abandon ideas. Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and validate novel startup concepts.
- Perform in-depth market and industry analyses.
- Identify and evaluate competitors and their business approaches.
- Examine market dimensions such as TAM, SAM, and SOM.
- Understand customer pain points and unmet demands.
- Analyze emerging industry trends and future possibilities.
- Review revenue generation models and pricing tactics.
- Conduct SWOT analyses identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Assess business viability and scalability potential.
- Produce clear, concise reports with actionable suggestions.
- Detect potential risks, obstacles, and market entry barriers.
- Research startup investment patterns and funding data.
- Gather insights from public data sources including reports, news, surveys, and academic papers.
- Present findings through well-organized PowerPoint slides and documentation.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Research Skills: Secondary and internet market research, competitor and industry analysis, data collection, and fact verification.
- Analytical Skills: Critical thinking, logical reasoning, business analysis, problem-solving, opportunity assessment, market sizing, and trend evaluation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Google Slides, Word/Google Docs, AI research tools like ChatGPT, basic data visualization, internet research techniques, and a solid understanding of startup ecosystems, business models, go-to-market strategies, revenue streams, customer segmentation, product-market fit, and business validation.
- Communication Skills: Expertise in report writing, business documentation, presentation delivery, attention to detail, structured thinking, and mastery of clear written English.

Compensation and Benefits
This internship offers a monthly stipend of ₹3,000. Additionally, participants will receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation upon successful completion.
