Role overview
Waste Connections is hiring a safety-focused Spotter for its Transfer Station in Deerfield Beach, Florida. This is a full-time, long-term onsite role with a well-established employer. The primary purpose of the job is to guide truck drivers with clear verbal and non-verbal instructions as they enter the transfer station, helping maintain orderly and safe traffic movement. You may also support the Scale House when needed.
Work schedule
The position runs Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday from 6:00am to 4:00pm. The role typically involves 45 to 55 hours per week.
Pay
Compensation is $18.50 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Direct trucks safely as they enter and move through the transfer station.
- Help keep the site clean by removing litter and performing general cleanup.
- Clean equipment as assigned.
- Provide support in the Scale House when necessary.
- Handle other duties assigned at the site.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of work experience, ideally in a labor-oriented role.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs throughout an 8 to 10 hour shift.
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions for the full shift.
- Equipment operation experience is an advantage.
- Mechanical aptitude is beneficial.
