Company Overview
Everlast Gyms is looking for a Sales & Retention Manager to help accelerate membership growth, strengthen member loyalty, and keep live member numbers rising. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a full-time leadership position where you will guide the sales effort, support the broader club team, and make sure every member receives a smooth experience from their first interaction onward. In this role, you will act as the club’s representative for sales performance, set the tone through your own example, apply effective approaches, and develop strong relationships both within the gym and in the local community.
Role Summary
This position is centered on driving sales performance, improving retention, and supporting wider club operations. You will help shape the club’s activity plan, monitor performance data, present results to management, and contribute to member engagement and business development. The role also includes hands-on involvement on reception and the gym floor, along with support for operational standards and team development.
Key Duties
- Champion the FUNDAMENTALS sales approach, while training and coaching the team so they perform at a high standard.
- Increase new member sign-ups and improve retention so the club’s active membership base continues to grow.
- Take ownership of the club activity planner, making sure campaigns and initiatives are well organised, delivered effectively, and produce strong results.
- Develop imaginative lead-generation ideas for both in-club and external activity.
- Track dashboards and KPI reports, share useful insights with the team, and help ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Grow all revenue streams, including memberships, products, and additional spend, to support profitability.
- Prepare and present monthly sales updates to the wider management team.
- Build productive relationships with local businesses and pursue #WeMoveBusinesses opportunities.
- Lead from the front on reception and across the gym floor in this member-facing position.
- Support national campaigns such as #WorkoutWednesday and #WeCommunicate.
- Offer clear, constructive feedback to colleagues to help improve development and performance.
- Assist the General Manager with operational responsibilities, including health and safety, facilities, maintenance, recruitment, and presentation standards.
What We’re Looking For
You should be genuinely enthusiastic about health, fitness, and wellbeing, and bring a strong commercial focus to the role. A background in leadership, coaching, and sales is important, along with the confidence to motivate others and deliver results. Strong communication skills, adaptability, resilience, and a proactive mindset will be essential. Flexibility is also required, as the role includes evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
