Role overview
This full-time onsite opportunity is based in Carlton, Victoria and focuses on leading testing work for corporate and business systems, with a strong emphasis on BAU support and SAP/ERP-related initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and complete testing work for BAU support and related business/system change projects, especially across SAP and ERP platforms.
- Work out testing scope and effort estimates for the assigned program or project.
- Prepare test plans and carry out test readiness activities for BAU testing and smaller change initiatives.
- Coordinate every stage of BAU testing while partnering with technical teams, system support vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Review vendor testing outputs and ensure the quality of their testing deliverables.
- Execute testing tasks in line with agreed test plans.
- Act as an advisor to BAU technical teams and business users on testing matters.
- Organize the UAT phase and support end users through user acceptance testing.
- Track testing metrics and produce KPI reporting.
- Make sure testing documents and assets are properly controlled, stored in the central repository, and kept ready for reuse, audit, and compliance needs.
- Spot opportunities to improve testing methods and recommend practical process enhancements.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 8 years of testing experience, including more than 3 years in a test lead role, ideally within SAP or ERP environments.
- Hands-on experience delivering testing for BAU change work.
- Strong capability in building test strategies and detailed test plans.
- Solid background in estimating testing effort, forecasting resourcing needs, and planning test activities.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the business and external vendors.
- Experience supporting and leading system testing, SIT, and UAT in collaboration with technical, vendor, and business teams.
- Practical experience in test and defect management, coordination, and reporting.
- Ability to assess test environments and data needs.
- Experience preparing stakeholder updates, testing status reports, and KPI reporting.
- Capability to review test artefacts and outputs critically and provide independent feedback and recommendations.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting test metrics and KPIs.
- Ability to manage dependencies, risks, and issues across internal and external teams.
- Exposure to a range of testing approaches such as V-model and Agile.
- Working knowledge of SDLC processes and testing standards such as IEEE 1012/29119 and TMMi.
- Experience using testing tools, particularly Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management for test and defect management.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to create action plans and provide independent recommendations that improve testing outcomes and process quality.
Education
A tertiary qualification in an IT-related field is preferred, along with formal training or certification in testing or test management.
