Research Analyst

Role Overview

Alpine Macro is hiring a Research Analyst to strengthen its team in Montreal. In this position, you will support the creation, development, and delivery of the firm's global investment research products.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed research and analysis focused on economics and investments.
• Work with the research team to generate and refine new ideas.
• Contribute original, strategic thinking to publication content.
• Stay current on developments in markets and relevant industries.
• Review and interpret financial data for research purposes.
• Create charts and visuals to support research output.
• Coordinate with the layout and design team during the publication workflow.
• Help proofread publications before they are released.
• Track important changes in the markets assigned to you.
• Support the creation and upkeep of chart databases.
• Take on special assignments and additional initiatives as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ideally, you bring 3 to 5 years of experience in the financial services sector.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Economics or Finance is preferred.
• CFA designation is considered a strong advantage.
• You should have excellent quantitative and analytical ability.
• High accuracy and a sharp eye for detail are important for this role.
• You need to be self-driven, well organized, and comfortable working as part of a team.
• Experience with financial and data-analysis tools such as Bloomberg, DataStream, eViews, and Macrobond is beneficial.
