Role overview
The Regional Manager will own day-to-day operations, service execution, and overall performance for janitorial accounts across a defined region. The role focuses on delivering services efficiently, keeping costs under control, and maintaining high quality standards across multiple client sites. This position reports to the Director of Operations and leads the Route Manager, Project Manager, and Supervisors. It also carries full P&L responsibility for the assigned portfolio and serves as the main customer contact for the region.
Operational management
- Direct janitorial service delivery across all facilities assigned to the region.
- Make sure all cleaning staff follow safety rules, client expectations, and internal policies.
- Keep regular contact with customers to maintain strong satisfaction levels.
- Carry out routine site visits and inspections to confirm standards are being met.
Team leadership and development
- Lead, coach, train, and support district managers, supervisors, and janitorial team members.
- Offer regular feedback and guidance to drive ongoing performance improvement.
- Handle performance reviews and support employee growth plans.
- Recruit and hire staff to keep coverage adequate and operations running smoothly.
Budgeting and cost control
- Create and manage regional budgets so financial goals are achieved.
- Track labor, supply, and equipment spending to protect profitability.
- Find and implement savings opportunities without reducing service quality.
Client relationship management
- Act as the region’s main client contact and ensure expectations are being met.
- Respond to customer issues and concerns quickly and professionally.
- Meet with clients regularly to review performance and gather feedback for improvement.
Education and experience
A high school diploma is required. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, facilities management, or a similar field is preferred. The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of experience in janitorial services, facilities management, or a related industry, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management position. Prior experience managing multiple sites is preferred. A valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation are required.

Work environment
Work may be performed in office buildings, schools, medical facilities, or other commercial properties. Travel to job sites is required. Depending on location needs, the schedule may include evenings, weekends, or holidays.
