About LENS
LENS is working to eliminate traffic accidents by identifying danger early and stopping incidents before they occur. Its technology monitors CCTV footage from highways in real time to spot hazards before they turn into crashes.
Platform and product
LENS Detect analyzes highway CCTV streams and flags risks such as disabled vehicles, stalled large trucks, and pedestrians on freeways. Public safety teams and transportation departments receive alerts in the LENS Detect dashboard. A dispatcher confirms the alert and sends an officer to help, which can prevent an accident or save a life.
CBS LA has also featured the work LENS is doing with public safety agencies in a short television segment about AI-driven accident prevention.
Role overview
As the Recruiter, you will help build the team behind LENS’s mission. This is a role for someone who believes accidents are preventable when root causes can be identified early, and who wants to work with colleagues who share that mindset.
What you'll do
- Help grow the team by finding people who are motivated by the mission, aligned with the company’s principles, and positive contributors to the culture.
- Own the candidate experience end to end, including partnering on job descriptions, designing interview flows and panels, scheduling interviews, coordinating logistics, and keeping records and systems accurate.
- Strengthen recruiting operations and strategy so the hiring function can scale, improve talent quality, and support the company’s growth.

- Treat recruiting as a system that compounds over time through repeatable processes, clear evaluation standards, and a pipeline that improves with each cycle.

- Start with clear definitions of the role, success criteria, and ideal profile before sourcing begins.

Experience and skills
- At least 5 years of end-to-end recruiting experience, with substantial exposure to technical hiring.
- Background as an early recruiting hire or in building recruiting processes at an early-stage startup.
- Proven ability to hire both technical and non-technical talent.
- Experience working closely with hiring managers and senior leadership.
- Strong sourcing ability, including engaging passive candidates proactively.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management capabilities.
- Ability to operate strategically while still executing hands-on work.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruiting tools; Ashby and Rippling are preferred.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Familiarity with structured interviewing and interviewer training.
- Experience supporting hiring during rapid growth and scaling.
