Job Summary
This role is for an advanced Automation QA Tester supporting JPMC in Chicago, Illinois. The position requires full-time onsite presence for all 5 working days, and interviews will be conducted in person.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain automated test coverage using SmartSpec with Node.js, Cucumber, and Gherkin.
- Create, run, and maintain API automation tests for both functional and regression validation.
- Work closely with developers, QA professionals, and product stakeholders to convert requirements into BDD scenarios and automated test cases.
- Investigate, isolate, and fix automation failures to keep test execution dependable and stable.
- Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues in the automation framework and test runs.
Required Skills and Experience
- Practical experience with Node.js-based test automation.
- Hands-on work with Cucumber and Gherkin for BDD-driven testing.
- Experience testing APIs through automation.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot automation frameworks and failures.
- Strong collaboration skills for working across development, QA, and product teams.
- Prior exposure to the banking or payments domain is preferred, especially TSYS automation/testing.
Additional Details
This is a contract engagement expected to run for 6 to 8 months. The engagement rate is $60 per hour on a C2C basis. Candidates must be based in Chicago, Illinois and able to work onsite.
