About the Role

H&P values its people as the core of its success. This role is centered on keeping inventory at healthy levels, placing replenishment orders when needed, and making sure purchased goods arrive on time through close coordination with warehouse teams and vendors. A key part of the position is also negotiating favorable agreements with both existing and new suppliers.

Job Summary

The Purchaser/Buyer is responsible for maintaining adequate stock, managing procurement activities, and supporting timely delivery of materials and parts. The role requires coordination across warehouses, vendors, and rigs, along with ongoing vendor evaluation, contract support, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Source goods locally with a focus on accuracy, timely delivery, and competitive pricing while securing the most favorable terms for the company.
• Create purchase orders through the company’s procurement platform.
• Partner with warehouse staff to align international and local purchasing practices.
• Support the creation of local trade agreements.
• Review vendor performance and monitor agreement compliance.
• Coordinate with rigs to ensure parts are supplied correctly and on schedule.
• Prepare and share the required reports for internal stakeholders.
• Set up payment terms with local suppliers.
• Examine, assess, and approve bid specifications for supplier selection through the RFQ process.
• Help build and apply purchasing and contract management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and/or delivering goods at ports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Comfortable using a PC, with solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Self-driven and able to work independently.
• Well-organized and capable of handling several priorities at once.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Education and Experience

A degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical, is required. Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
