About the Organisation

Role Overview
This position is based in Bhopal and will support the Programme Manager - Gender, who is located in Delhi. The role involves programme coordination, operational assistance, data handling, and reporting support for gender mainstreaming work across Peepul’s education programmes in Madhya Pradesh.
What You Will Do
- Help integrate gender-responsive and inclusive practices into programme activities and daily operations.
- Review classroom practices, community settings, and learning resources through a gender and inclusion perspective.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for gender-focused initiatives.
- Gather and manage sex-disaggregated programme data.
- Build and maintain trackers, dashboards, and progress updates for the Gender Action Plan.
- Support reporting to donors and organisational leadership on gender-related work.
- Organise workshops, awareness sessions, and training programmes on gender equity.
- Draft case studies, documentation, and communication materials that showcase gender integration.
- Assist with internal and external communication related to gender work.
- Work with internal teams to collect inputs for gender projects.
- Coordinate with consultants, partners, and government stakeholders when required.
- Monitor deliverables, budgets, and timelines for assigned projects.
- Support effective implementation of the Gender Policy and Action Plan.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related discipline is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Between 4 and 6 years of relevant project management experience, ideally including exposure to gender mainstreaming, social inclusion, or equity-oriented programmes.
- Sound understanding of gender concepts, intersectionality, and related frameworks and tools, especially in the context of government systems and education.
- Prior familiarity with the Indian education system is highly desirable.
- Awareness of how gender connects with poverty, caste, disability, and geography as barriers to learning and participation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi.
- A self-driven, dependable, and collaborative working style, with the ability to work independently in fast-changing environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging with a range of stakeholders.
