Role Overview
MVP Ventures is hiring a Production Planner for its Singapore location within the Operations department. The role supports the ramp-up and scaling of optical and silicon manufacturing for next-generation photonics products. This position plays a key part in coordinating supply, schedules, and execution so production can run smoothly and customer commitments can be met.
About the Company
Lumilens is building the photonics infrastructure needed for the next wave of AI supercomputing. The company is focused on chip-to-chip optical interconnects and scalable photonic engines designed to make computing faster, cooler, and far more efficient. Backed by Mayfield and led by experienced industry leaders, the business is working on foundational technology with direct impact on how future optical systems are sourced, built, and delivered.
This is an opportunity to join a well-funded startup at an early stage and contribute meaningfully to engineering, sourcing, operations, and scale-up decisions. The environment is fast-moving, highly collaborative, and centered on solving complex challenges in optics, systems, and manufacturing.
What You Will Do
- Create, issue, maintain, and control production schedules and direct material plans to keep raw materials and approved finished goods flowing properly for optical and silicon manufacturing.
- Build production plans that balance customer demand, master schedules, shop load, component availability, and factory capacity across photonics, silicon, and optical assembly operations.
- Keep leadership informed on work-in-progress, inventory position, material availability, and possible production or supply interruptions so decisions can be made quickly and cost-effectively.
- Coordinate equipment and labor scheduling, confirm supply and demand, and raise work orders or purchase requests for the parts and components needed for builds.
- Work across quality, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, logistics, and demand planning teams to support ongoing production as well as new product introductions and readiness for product launches.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to move new optical and silicon products from development into pilot runs and full-scale production while keeping materials, schedules, and execution aligned.
- Track the movement of parts and assemblies through move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests to keep production timelines on track.
- Assess inventory risk, backlog and back-order exposure, and supply constraints, then develop recovery plans that protect customer delivery commitments.
- Own assigned initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve schedule performance, inventory accuracy, and production planning processes.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 4 years of experience in supply chain, production planning, or materials planning; alternatively, an advanced degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience planning production in a manufacturing setting, with a solid grasp of material movement, inventory control, and schedule management.
- Ability to evaluate work-in-progress, supply risk, backlog exposure, and production bottlenecks to help ensure on-time delivery.
- Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain functions.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting ability, along with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using ERP systems in supply chain work, including Material Requirements Planning, is preferred.
- Background in optical, silicon, semiconductor, or other advanced manufacturing environments is preferred, especially with new product introduction, pilot builds, and production ramp-up.
- Strong math, analytics, and statistical capability, whether gained through education or work experience, is preferred.
- Project management experience, a master’s degree, APICS CPIM, PMP, or Lean/Six Sigma/DMAIC expertise is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated environments is preferred.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts effectively to business stakeholders, are preferred.
Perks and Benefits
- Salary that is competitive and aligned with experience.
- Full benefits package, including health insurance.
- Opportunities for professional growth and certification support.
- Exposure to advanced photonics and manufacturing technologies.
Equal Opportunity
The employer is committed to fair hiring and considers all qualified candidates without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, identity, orientation, veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
