What This Opportunity Involves
Contributors will be tasked with designing original optics problems that simulate real physics research workflows. This includes ensuring problems are computationally intensive, requiring non-trivial reasoning chains in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics, and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes. Problems should be based on real research challenges or practical applications from optics and physics practice, with clearly documented problem statements and verified correct answers.
What We Look For
This opportunity is ideal for optical engineers seeking part-time, non-permanent projects. Candidates should ideally possess a degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a related field, with at least 2 years of professional experience (applied, research, or teaching). Experience with numerical simulation methods, the ability to design problems mirroring real physics research workflows, creative thinking in problem design across diverse physics areas, and familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques are essential. Strong written English proficiency (C1+) is also required.
