About the Role

Lyra Health is hiring a Manager for the Mental Health Evaluations team. This team helps customers and their employees pursue mental health-related leave options such as short-term disability, intermittent leave, and workplace accommodations, as well as employer-directed mental health evaluation services.

The right candidate will bring clinical operations leadership experience and be comfortable overseeing the daily running of a care-focused team while maintaining a high standard of service. This person should also think strategically, use modern tools to make work more efficient, and thrive in a fast-moving environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with both internal teams and outside stakeholders are essential.

Experience the Ideal Candidate Brings

The best fit for this role will likely have hands-on experience in clinical operations, including leadership of a team that supports clinicians and patients directly. Background in case management within a clinical environment is also important. The role calls for someone who can work well with clinical specialists, senior leadership, and external partners, use data to surface problems and trends, and apply technology to streamline clinical support workflows.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will oversee a team of 6 or more and act as the main operations contact for the clinical team. You will create and roll out standard procedures that strengthen efficiency, service quality, and client experience. You will also establish and track quality metrics aligned with best practices and service-level expectations.

Another major part of the role is managing escalated patient cases and helping resolve issues quickly and proactively. You will review data to identify risks, measure capacity, track trends and performance, and guide program decisions. You will support staffing plans and forecasting based on expected demand and business growth.

You will also lead weekly one-on-one meetings and team discussions to support development, performance reviews, team engagement, and process alignment. In addition, you will represent Lyra in discussions with external behavioral health organizations and customers.

Qualifications

This role calls for at least 8 years of operations experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, along with team leadership experience. Clinical training is preferred but not mandatory; examples include a Master of Social Work degree or a Registered Nurse background.

The successful candidate should be well organized, self-directed, quick to diagnose problems, and capable of building practical, long-term solutions independently. Strong project management and people management abilities are also important, along with a genuine interest in improving mental health care through technology while preserving a human-centered approach.
