Role Overview

Key Duties

  • Keep the ocean import freight workflow moving smoothly and on time.
  • Enter operational data accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Monitor and follow up on ocean import files, tracking activity and reporting progress.
  • Use Ocean Import CFIT and Monitor tools on a daily basis.
  • Send shipping documents promptly and ensure overseas offices and customers receive notices.
  • Support accurate and timely billing for clients and vendors.
  • Coordinate with customers to arrange international shipments while meeting service standards.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with carriers, trucking providers, and other supply chain partners.
  • Follow internal policies and government requirements to remain fully compliant.
  • Understand end-to-end department processes and look for better ways to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Keep customer SOPs current and properly recorded in the Customer SOP system.
  • Meet company KPI expectations and performance targets.
  • Handle overseas communication and respond quickly to internal and external emails and requests.
  • Escalate operational issues to management when needed.
  • Support onboarding by sharing knowledge and guiding new colleagues.
  • Assist local teams with advice on more complex procedures.

Qualifications

  • A college degree or higher is required.
  • Experience in the logistics industry is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience, is needed.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, are expected.
  • English fluency is required.
