Role overview

Equans is hiring a Mobile Janitor to support school sites across North Lanarkshire, based in Bellshill (ML4 3LR). This is a permanent, full-time position with 37.5 working hours per week and a competitive pay and benefits package.

Working pattern

The job follows a two-week rota and includes early, middle, and late shifts, with some weekend coverage. Shift timings can change depending on the site, so flexibility is important.

Primary school rota: 5 or 5.5 days across 7
Primary early shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:00
Primary late shift: Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 21:15
Primary Saturday shift: 08:00 to 12:15
High school rota: 5 days across 7
High school early shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:00
High school middle shift: Monday to Wednesday, 08:00 to 16:00
High school weekend middle shift: Saturday and Sunday, 09:00 to 16:15
High school late shift: Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 22:00

What the role involves

You will move between different school locations and help keep premises safe, secure, and in good condition for pupils, staff, and visitors. The role requires a practical approach, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Key duties

Safely open and lock school buildings
Perform routine cleaning tasks and basic site inspections
Handle emergencies appropriately and follow the correct procedures
Support site security and contact emergency services when needed

Requirements

You must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work, with travel expenses covered. The role also needs someone who can work across multiple sites and stay dependable, flexible, and safety-focused.

Strong focus on safety, security, and high standards
Previous experience in janitorial, facilities, or caretaking work

Desirable experience
