Lead Estimator

Role Overview

Elegancia Kitchens is looking for a seasoned Lead Estimator to oversee estimation and tendering for medium to large industrial kitchen projects across Qatar and the GCC. This full-time position sits within the Estimation, Tendering, and Commercial function and reports to the Estimation Manager, Commercial Manager, or General Manager.

The role suits a commercially minded engineering professional with deep exposure to commercial kitchen equipment, industrial kitchen supplies, and food service solutions for hotels, restaurants, hospitality developments, and large F&B operations.

What You Will Do

• Take ownership of accurate and competitive cost estimation for industrial and commercial kitchen assignments.
• Examine tender packs, project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and client requirements in detail.
• Build technical and commercial submissions for hotels, restaurants, central kitchens, hospitality projects, and food service facilities.
• Work with suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to secure pricing, technical data, and lead times.
• Assess project scope, equipment schedules, kitchen layouts, specifications, and compliance obligations.
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost build-ups covering kitchen equipment, stainless steel fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Flag risks, exclusions, assumptions, and value engineering opportunities during the estimating process.
• Collaborate with sales, design, procurement, and project delivery teams to support precise tender submissions.
• Keep pricing files, supplier quotes, cost history, and previous project data up to date.
• Support commercial negotiations with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure all submissions are completed on time and aligned with company standards.
• Provide technical and commercial responses during post-tender clarifications and discussions.
• Guide and mentor junior estimators, quantity surveyors, and tendering staff where needed.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in estimation, tendering, or commercial roles.
• A minimum of 5 years of GCC experience.
• Direct exposure to industrial kitchen equipment, commercial kitchen supplies, or food service equipment projects.
• Prior work with reputable kitchen equipment providers, suppliers, or hospitality contractors in Qatar or the GCC.
• Strong understanding of kitchen equipment, stainless steel fabrication, MEP coordination, installation needs, and hospitality project requirements.
• Hands-on experience with mid to large-scale projects for hotels, restaurants, cloud kitchens, central kitchens, catering facilities, or hospitality developments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, kitchen layouts, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents accurately.
• Solid knowledge of pricing, supplier coordination, cost analysis, and tender preparation.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, estimation software, AutoCAD reading, and ERP or tendering systems is an advantage.
• Candidates currently located in Qatar or the GCC are preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The employer prefers professionals who are currently working with, or have previously worked for, a major industrial kitchen equipment company in Qatar or the GCC. A strong supplier network, familiarity with international brands used in hotel and restaurant kitchen projects, and the ability to independently manage a tender from inquiry to final submission are all highly valued. The ideal person should be commercially sharp, highly detailed, and comfortable working to tight deadlines.
