About the Role
Mandarin Oriental, Doha is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to strengthen its housekeeping team. The role sits within the Housekeeping Department at the Doha property and supports the hotel’s standards for cleanliness, hygiene, guest satisfaction, and presentation. The property is an upscale urban retreat in Msheireb Downtown Doha, close to Souq Waqif, the Museum of Islamic Art, and the West Bay business area.
The hotel is part of an internationally recognized luxury hospitality group known for highly regarded hotels, resorts, and residences, with service shaped by Asian heritage and contemporary luxury.
What You Will Do
You will oversee daily housekeeping operations and coordinate the team responsible for rooms, turn-down service, evening cleaning, and related floor activities. The position reports to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager and requires close coordination with Front Office, Order Takers, and housekeeping leadership to ensure smooth room readiness and guest service.
- Plan the day’s work allocation for room attendants, turn-down staff, evening cleaners, and housemen.
- Inspect daytime room service and evening turn-down service, and complete periodic checklists.
- Work with Front Office on late arrivals, early arrivals, VIP rooms, and special guest requests.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Check pantries and equipment at the end of the shift, making sure supplies are clean, properly stored, and well organized.
- Ensure accurate shift handover, with all instructions recorded in the logbook.
- Coordinate regularly with the Order Taker regarding room status and immediately inform room attendants about checkout rooms.
- Keep room status and guest discrepancies updated at all times and report issues to Front Office.
- Maintain all services in line with the department’s Welcome Charter and standard operating procedures.
- Manage pantry stock checks and submit supply requisitions on the required day to maintain par stock levels.
- Support evacuation, fire, and bomb-threat procedures when needed.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the housekeeping management team.
- Assist with linen inventories when scheduled or requested by the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Managers.
- Follow up on maintenance issues and related reports.
- Train new and existing staff on turn-down procedures.
- Ensure staff take breaks according to schedule.
- Verify all discrepancies against discrepancy reports.
- Escalate guest complaints and comments to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Ensure your team strictly follows lost-and-found procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a similar housekeeping supervisor role at a luxury hotel is preferred; resort experience is considered an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of housekeeping operations, chemicals, linen handling, and machinery is required.
- A consistently neat, polished, and professional appearance is essential.
- Very good written and spoken English is necessary.
- You should bring a positive, energetic, friendly, adaptable, and self-driven approach, with the ability to work independently.
