Role Overview
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment with a strong hospitality approach, while following applicable laws, regulations, and Century Park standards. This position reports to the Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- Background in healthcare settings is an advantage.
Key Duties
- Clean assigned spaces within the expected time frame using the appropriate cleaning supplies and methods. Areas may include occupied and vacant units, patios, decks, shared spaces, offices, lobbies, elevators, lounges, public restrooms, laundry rooms, dining areas, and similar locations.
- Carry out vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, glass and window cleaning, and sanitizing tasks, including care for high and low surfaces and conditioning or polishing wood surfaces as needed.
- Keep cleaning carts properly stocked and alert the supervisor when supplies are running low.
- Store equipment, tools, and supplies in the correct manner after use.
- Inform the supervisor when light bulbs need replacement.
- Escalate any repair needs, equipment issues, or mechanical concerns to the supervisor.
- Report any unusual resident behavior or unsafe/unacceptable conditions to the supervisor.
- Share resident concerns or complaints with the supervisor promptly.
Additional Requirements
- A genuine interest in serving senior residents is essential.
- The role calls for patience, tact, a positive attitude, and the ability to work with difficult residents when needed.
- Independent judgment should be used when situations require it.
- The person in this role must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong professional relationships must be maintained with colleagues, vendors, and others.
- Confidential and proprietary information must be handled discreetly at all times.
- Integrity and professionalism are expected, including adherence to Century Park’s Code of Ethics and completion of all required compliance training.
