Role overview

This position is part of the housekeeping team at a hotel property in Doha, Qatar. The role is focused on maintaining guest rooms and public areas to a high standard, delivering prompt service, and supporting a smooth guest experience through detailed cleaning and room preparation.

Key duties

• Respond quickly to guest requests and coordinate with other departments when needed.
• Prepare the housekeeping cart with supplies and move it to the assigned section.
• Enter guest rooms only by following the proper access and vacancy-check procedures.
• Restock guest amenities and room supplies as required.
• Change used linen and towels for fresh items and make beds neatly.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Collect trash, used linens, and room service items from guest areas.
• Confirm that room appliances are present and functioning correctly.
• Organize desk items, furniture, and appliances to maintain room presentation.
• Dust surfaces, polish fixtures, and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
• Vacuum carpets and carry out floor-care tasks in guest rooms and corridors.

Work standards and physical expectations

The job requires following company policies, as well as health, safety, and security procedures. Any maintenance issue, hazard, accident, or injury must be reported promptly. Required safety training and certifications must be completed, and flammable materials must be stored correctly. Professional appearance and uniform standards are expected at all times, along with confidentiality of proprietary information.

Guest service behavior is also important: acknowledge guests courteously, respond to service needs in advance where possible, assist guests with disabilities, and communicate in a clear, professional manner. Teamwork is essential, and the role may involve additional duties assigned by supervisors. Physical demands include lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance, pushing and pulling a loaded housekeeping cart across uneven or sloped surfaces, reaching overhead and below knee level, bending, twisting, stooping, and remaining on your feet or otherwise active for long periods during the shift.

Preferred qualification

No high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. There is no prior related work experience requirement, no supervisory experience requirement, and no license or certification is needed.
