Company Overview
Mondrian Doha is a lively hospitality destination known for energetic social spaces, celebrations, business gatherings, and a wide mix of food and nightlife outlets across multiple areas of the property.
Role Summary
Working under the direction of the Director of Food & Beverage, or another manager appointed by the business, you will help deliver warm, efficient, and timely food and beverage service that meets service standards and individual guest needs while reflecting the Mondrian Doha vision.
What You Will Do
- Keep the restaurant operating smoothly on a daily basis.
- Support the restaurant leadership team in delivering strong guest satisfaction.
- Direct and support the service team on shift.
- Cover supervisory duties regularly.
- Drive revenue through effective selling and upselling.
- Keep cash floats secure at all times.
- Operate within assigned budget limits.
- Reduce unnecessary damage or misuse of service equipment.
- Ensure supply requests are completed, received, and properly tracked.
- Limit overtime usage wherever possible.
- Make sure sufficient operating equipment is always available.
- Log all void transactions and escalate payment differences to the Restaurant Manager.
- Handle cash, credit cards, and cheques according to company rules.
- Listen to guest complaints, respond appropriately, and report issues to management.
- Coordinate with colleagues to meet guest needs.
- Manage proper handover at the start and end of each shift.
- Work closely with the Head Chef on an ongoing basis.
- Coordinate regularly with Reception.
- Collect guest feedback consistently.
- Prepare a full daily summary in the Management Report Book.
- Build a friendly, respectful relationship with repeat guests.
- Maintain a strong guest-facing presence and handle comments, questions, requests, and complaints quickly and politely, with full follow-through.
- Learn guest preferences and requirements to support smooth and attentive service.
- Keep an uncompromising standard of quality across food, beverages, service, cleanliness, and overall presentation.
- Support other hotel revenue areas such as Rooms and Events.
- Stay focused on results and be fully accountable for performance.
- Attend daily business review meetings, weekly strategic sales meetings, management meetings, and any other required sessions.
- Carry out routine inspections to make sure company assets remain protected and in good condition.
- Help position the business as a respected part of the local community.
- Perform any other duties that fit the purpose and scope of the role.
Qualifications
You should remain composed, courteous, and attentive to guest needs at all times. Prior experience in a restaurant or food and beverage environment is required. The role also calls for flexibility to work outlet shifts based on business demand.
