About the Role
Access Healthcare is looking for HCC coding and QA professionals to work from Chennai or Coimbatore. The opening includes opportunities for both certified and non-certified candidates, with the non-certified HCC coder profile requiring at least 0.9 months of experience. Certified HCC coders should have 1.5+ years of experience, and HCC QA candidates should have 2+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Examine medical charts and clinical records to determine the patient’s diagnoses and treatments.
- Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes accurately for each case.
- Link diagnoses to the appropriate Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC).
- Maintain consistency and correctness in coding assignments.
- Review records and supporting documentation to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Share corrective feedback with physicians and other healthcare providers on coding standards.
- Support training and awareness for physicians, providers, and clinic staff on compliant clinical documentation practices.
Requirements
- A solid foundation in medical coding practices.
- Sharp attention to detail and a strong focus on precision.
- A clear commitment to compliance and accurate coding.
- Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and HEDIS Category II codes.
- Any one of the following certifications is required: CRC, CPC, or CCS.
