Role overview
As a gem setter, you will be responsible for securely and precisely setting gemstones into jewelry pieces in line with approved designs and quality standards. The role calls for careful evaluation of stones and settings, preparation of components, selection of the most suitable setting technique, and accurate placement that is both durable and visually refined.
Key duties
Your day-to-day work will involve using precision hand tools and magnification equipment, coordinating closely with the design and workshop teams, and checking and refining completed pieces. You will also record your work steps, contribute ideas to improve workshop processes, and maintain a tidy, safe, and orderly working environment.
Work arrangement
This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Ruhr region.
Qualifications
- Experience in gemstone setting, preferably in luxury or fine jewelry, with confident handling of setting styles such as bezel, prong, pavé, or channel settings.
- Strong manual dexterity, excellent attention to detail, and a high level of precision when working with delicate materials.
- Basic knowledge of jewelry making and metalwork, such as training as a goldsmith or jeweler, is an advantage.
- A self-directed, dependable, and quality-focused work style, along with a willingness to collaborate with workshop and design colleagues.
- Readiness to work full-time on-site in shifts, openness to learning new techniques, and ideally some familiarity with simple digital documentation tools.
