Role Overview
This position supports galley, bakery, and butcher shop operations aboard ship by handling cleaning, stocking, and general upkeep duties. The role is focused on maintaining sanitary work areas, organizing supplies, and assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of food service spaces.
Core Duties
- Clean pots, pans, dishes, chopping blocks, and service areas either manually or with a dishwashing machine.
- Buff silverware, chafing dishes, and coffee pots to keep them presentable and ready for use.
- Arrange washed glasses in racks to reduce the chance of breakage.
- Defrost and clean reefers and iceboxes.
- Wash and sort vegetables and fruits, removing unusable items as needed.
- Collect garbage and clean the waste cans.
- Mop or swab the deck in the assigned work area.
- Move provisions from reefers and storerooms to the galley, pantry, bakery, and butcher shop.
- Keep service counters and stations fully stocked.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years of offshore work experience.
- A valid TWIC card is required.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
