Role overview
This opportunity is for a flexible back-up nanny position supporting several families as needed. The role is suited to someone who enjoys a lively, creative, and adaptable childcare environment. It may be a strong fit for people with experience as a babysitter, daycare worker, nanny, or church nursery volunteer, as well as retired teachers or teaching professionals looking for a smaller setting than a classroom.
You will work as part of an on-call team and can schedule shifts around school, family responsibilities, or another part-time job.
What the job involves
- Provide in-home care for children without needing to drive them anywhere.
- Limit household tasks to simple cleanup related to your activities or meals with the child.
- Support families with children from infancy through toddler age, with the greatest need for care for children under 2 years old.
- Keep children safe and engaged through hands-on, age-appropriate activities based on your observations of their developmental stage.
Pay and benefits
- Hourly pay ranges from $23 to $26.50.
- Paid training is provided, along with a nanny kit containing age-suitable games and activities for assignments.
- There are chances to grow within the childcare field and to be considered first for families looking for one regular nanny, whether full-time or part-time.
- Paid sick leave is available for both part-time and full-time schedules.
- Full-time work may include medical stipend, paid vacation, paid holidays, student loan repayment matching funds, or retirement savings matching funds.
- Additional possible perks include mileage support, bonuses for strong feedback, and team contests or meetups for connection and support.
- The position is legally employed on a W-2 basis, with unemployment insurance and resume-building value.
Candidate profile
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Prior experience with children is required, whether paid or unpaid, and infant experience is mandatory.
- You need dependable transportation and the ability to travel to different homes in the area.
- You should be available for any 3 or more weekdays, with 6 to 8 hour shifts between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
- You should be communicative, responsive to the staffing supervisor, and ready to greet each family with a positive attitude.
