Role overview
This is a front-end development position based in Nairobi, working entirely from the office. The schedule follows USA-aligned working hours. The role is centered on building customer-facing digital products with a strong emphasis on user experience, interface quality, and production readiness.
What you'll do
- Create clean, intuitive, and easy-to-use front-end interfaces for web applications.
- Convert UX/UI ideas, wireframes, and design mockups into polished, production-ready screens.
- Build front-end application logic and user-facing functionality.
- Work with product, design, and engineering teams to improve usability and overall experience.
- Assist with user acceptance testing and help fix issues discovered during testing.
- Take part in customer pilots and proof-of-concept implementations.
- Make sure applications perform well and meet standards for quality, responsiveness, and accessibility.
- Help refine front-end development processes and raise user experience standards.
- Collaborate with design partners and customers to collect feedback and improve product features.
- Support product launches and ensure products are ready for production use.
Experience and skills required
The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5+ years of professional front-end development experience, including at least 2 years focused on UX/UI-driven application development. You should have worked on production-facing web applications and be comfortable turning design concepts into working interfaces. Familiarity with TypeScript, React, modern CSS, and REST or GraphQL integrations is important. A solid grasp of responsive design, usability, and accessibility is also expected. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
Preferred background
Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or technology product environments will be an advantage. Prior exposure to product pilots, proof-of-concepts, customer deployments, design systems, and front-end performance tuning is also desirable.
