Floor Tech

Role Overview

The floor technician is responsible for maintaining hard floors and carpeted surfaces across the facility, keeping shared and resident areas clean, safe, and presentable.

Key Duties

• Carry out routine floor maintenance on hard surfaces and carpeted areas.
• Complete dust mopping and wet mopping as part of daily upkeep.
• Perform stripping, waxing, and buffing of floors when needed.
• Handle carpet shampooing, extraction, and bonneting work.
• Clean floors in offices, resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, entryways, stairwells, and dining areas or other common spaces.

Work Standards

• Follow company policies and procedures while performing assigned tasks.
• Work in line with federal, state, and local requirements, including OSHA and any other relevant regulations.
• Attend training sessions assigned by management.
• Maintain professional conduct appropriate for a healthcare setting.

Education and Experience

• No specific formal education is required, though a high school diploma is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Should be able to understand and carry out verbal, written, and spoken instructions.
• Must be capable of working responsibly in a healthcare environment.
• Must meet any pre-employment conditions required by the facility and the employer.
