Role Overview
The Field Service Engineer will support customer excellence by handling analyzer troubleshooting, installation, preventive maintenance, and repair activities. This role serves as an external face of the company and requires strong product knowledge, clear communication, and the ability to educate customer accounts effectively.
This position sits within the Customer Support function in Hofuf AlAhsa, Saudi Arabia, and is part of the Service Team reporting to the Service Team Leader C/E. The role is best suited to someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants to help build a high-performing service organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, installation, preventive maintenance, and service repairs for the assigned installed base of analyzers.
- Keep tools and test equipment in proper working order and ensure they remain calibrated.
- Complete Regulatory Field Action Notes and technical updates by the required deadlines while following all relevant regulatory expectations.
- Install analyzers and provide customer user training when needed.
- Track and manage spare parts usage accurately and help control spare parts cycle time.
- Follow company rules, policies, guidelines, and compliance standards at all times.
- Carry out operating system upgrades and ensure devices remain cybersecurity compliant.
- Provide basic IT support for devices running Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11.
- Edit or add IP addresses on devices and verify connectivity with Middleware or LIS/HIS/EMR systems.
Requirements
- A university degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical/electromechanical engineering, electronic engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant field service experience in the healthcare sector, especially with medical point-of-care devices or diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting ability, plus hands-on experience with networking, connectivity setup, IT system upgrades, and basic command prompt usage.
- Experience testing device connectivity with Middleware or LIS/HIS/EMR platforms.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience with SQL databases, Java, and Mirth.
- Preferred experience using Microsoft Office tools and CRM systems.
