Role Overview

The Field Service Engineer will support customer excellence by handling analyzer troubleshooting, installation, preventive maintenance, and repair activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, installation, preventive maintenance, and service repairs for the assigned installed base of analyzers.
  • Keep tools and test equipment in proper working order and ensure they remain calibrated.
  • Complete Regulatory Field Action Notes and technical updates by the required deadlines while following all relevant regulatory expectations.
  • Install analyzers and provide customer user training when needed.
  • Track and manage spare parts usage accurately and help control spare parts cycle time.
  • Follow company rules, policies, guidelines, and compliance standards at all times.
  • Carry out operating system upgrades and ensure devices remain cybersecurity compliant.
  • Provide basic IT support for devices running Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11.
  • Edit or add IP addresses on devices and verify connectivity with Middleware or LIS/HIS/EMR systems.

Requirements

  • A university degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical/electromechanical engineering, electronic engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant field service experience in the healthcare sector, especially with medical point-of-care devices or diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability, plus hands-on experience with networking, connectivity setup, IT system upgrades, and basic command prompt usage.
  • Experience testing device connectivity with Middleware or LIS/HIS/EMR platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred experience with SQL databases, Java, and Mirth.
  • Preferred experience using Microsoft Office tools and CRM systems.
