Environmental Analyst

ERG is looking for an early-career environmental analyst to join its Arlington, VA team. This position supports public sector clients and programs, with a strong emphasis on clean transportation and circular economy work. Key Responsibilities

• Create communications content and supporting materials designed for specific audience groups.
• Work with stakeholders through interviews, focus groups, and similar meeting formats.
• Handle event coordination and provide support for both virtual and on-site meetings.
• Perform research, evaluate data, prepare case studies and reports, and share findings.
• Assist with grant-related programs by answering applicant questions, reviewing submissions, carrying out site visits, and producing outreach content.

Qualifications and Skills

• 0 to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or a related discipline.
• Ability to take initiative, work on your own, and collaborate effectively in person and remotely.
• Strong planning and prioritization skills for managing multiple deadlines.
• Excellent writing ability with the skill to explain technical ideas to non-specialist audiences.
• Experience developing content for different audiences and channels, including print, web, and social media.
• Comfort working in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary offered for this role depends on the candidate’s experience level and the type of experience they bring. ERG provides a competitive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, life insurance, long-term disability, educational support, flexible spending accounts, a generous 401(k), profit sharing, an employee assistance program, 11 to 20 vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays annually, and at least 56 hours of sick leave per year depending on the state of employment.
