Role summary

This position focuses on commissioning engineering for data centre projects in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The engineer will plan, coordinate, and execute L2 to L5 commissioning work for assigned systems or areas while maintaining technical compliance, quality standards, and readiness for handover. The role combines hands-on technical delivery, documentation management, and coordination with stakeholders.

Commissioning responsibilities

• Take ownership of installation verification and confirm that systems are ready to enter the commissioning phase.
• Examine and sign off installation checklists, ITPs, and method statements.
• Make sure installed work satisfies the required commissioning entry conditions.
• Plan and witness commissioning for individual equipment and plant items.
• Check operating settings, control logic, and protection functions.
• Confirm the stability of equipment before moving into broader system testing.
• Organise and witness functional testing at system level.
• Validate operation sequences and expected system responses.
• Ensure outcomes align with design intent and operational needs.
• Assist with integrated systems testing for the allocated scope.
• Check resilience and recovery results for the relevant systems.
• Support client demonstrations and acceptance activities.

Decision-making scope

• Approve movement from one commissioning stage to the next within the assigned scope.
• Recommend whether test outcomes should be accepted or rejected.

Experience and technical expectations

• Bring 5 to 8 years of commissioning experience in mission-critical or similarly complex facilities.
• Must have direct exposure to data centres or other critical infrastructure.
• Be confident handling technical documentation and cross-team coordination.

Performance focus

• Deliver testing work accurately and with strong technical discipline.
• Resolve issues quickly and ensure close-out is completed on time.
• Maintain thorough, complete, and well-organised documentation.
