Role overview
This opportunity is on behalf of a partner organization that handles applications and all later hiring steps. The hiring company is seeking a Developer Portal & Community Manager located in Ireland.
The role is central to how a technically complex open-hardware product is documented, understood, and adopted by a worldwide developer audience. You will take full ownership of the Developer Portal, making it a dependable, well-structured reference point for engineers, contributors, and enthusiasts. In close partnership with hardware and software teams, you will turn internal development activity into public-facing documentation and community-facing updates that are easy to follow and genuinely useful. This is a practical technical communication role where strong product understanding matters just as much as the ability to explain it. You will also serve as the link between engineering teams and the outside community, helping feedback move in both directions clearly and effectively. The work environment is collaborative, fast-paced, transparent, and strongly connected to open development practices.
What you'll do
- Take responsibility for the Developer Portal, organizing and improving it continuously so that external developers and contributors can rely on it as an accurate, clear resource.
- Convert engineering conversations, technical developments, and product updates into public documentation that is simple to understand and well structured.
- Manage and keep in order wiki pages, GitHub repositories, and developer resources spanning several sub-projects.
- Join engineering discussions and team meetings to stay in step with active development work and product direction.
- Review and moderate community contributions, issues, discussions, and pull requests to keep collaboration productive, relevant, and high quality.
- Gather input from the developer community, summarize it, and share the most useful insights with internal teams.
- Keep community communication organized, efficient, and aligned with the objectives of the project.
- Support developers in understanding how to use the portal, contribute effectively, and engage with the wider ecosystem.
What we're looking for
- Strong written communication skills, with demonstrated experience creating technical documentation, guides, or README-style content.
- Good knowledge of software development workflows, including Git, branches, commits, and pull requests.
- Ability to simplify complex technical ideas into clear, structured explanations, using diagrams or flowcharts when helpful.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, including the skill to identify the key points in technical conversations.
- Comfort working directly with engineers and participating in technical discussions across both hardware and software areas.
- Judgment to separate useful feedback from unnecessary noise while keeping attention on meaningful contributions and discussions.
- Strong organizational thinking with an emphasis on structure, clarity, and information architecture.
- Real interest in developer tools, hardware products, open-source communities, and build-in-public development culture.
- Fluency in English and Russian for communication across teams and with the community.
- Experience in, or familiarity with, DevRel, technical writing, community management, or developer portals is a strong plus.
Benefits and perks
- Fully remote role with the freedom to work from anywhere in the world.
- Company-provided equipment to support a comfortable and productive remote setup.
- Health and wellness support, including medical coverage, therapy sessions, and sports-related programs.
- Access to language learning support and professional development opportunities.
- Flexible working hours with a structured five-day workweek.
- Opportunity to collaborate on advanced open-hardware and software projects.
- Direct influence on how a global developer community understands and engages with a major product ecosystem.
- A transparent, collaborative, and engineering-led work culture.
